Scandinavian Restraint. Aerospace Engineering.
A flat cassette that disappears against the wall, and a frame built to the tolerances of an aircraft wing. Nothing on it is there to be noticed — which is exactly the point.
Our most-trusted retractable awning, made to your wall to the centimetre. Rated to hold steady fully extended at 40 km/h. A multi-chamber aluminium frame up to 2.2x thicker than the category, wrapped in Sauleda Spanish marine-grade acrylic guaranteed not to fade for 10 years. Sealed inside a full cassette when retracted, hidden from UV, rain and weather for the next two decades.
Mounts to wall, ceiling, soffit or fascia — every bracket you need ships in the box, along with the fixing plan for your wall.
Drag to the width you want covered. We build to the exact centimetre — no rounding up to the next stock size.
Measured from the wall out into the yard. Three metres covers a dining table and chairs with room to walk behind.
Graphite grey is what the line runs as standard. Any other RAL is a custom powder-coat run — we confirm it with your drawing.
Both grades are three-layer with a waterproof membrane. The Spanish acrylic is solution-dyed, so it holds colour years longer.
Motor, remote and wind sensor are included in every build. Upgrade only if you want app control.
Fitted at the factory, wired inside the cassette — not bolted on afterwards.
We call back within 2 business hours, Mon–Fri.
Built on the same production line as the European brands and shipped straight to your door. No importer, no showroom, no reseller margin — that is the whole difference in the price.
Made to your wall to the centimetre, from 2.0 m to 7.0 m wide and up to 3.5 m projection. Full aluminium cassette, powder-coated. Sauleda Spanish marine-grade acrylic. IP65 motor, under 45 dB. Wind class 2.
Two people, about an hour. Wall, ceiling or fascia brackets included for every mount type. We send the fixing plan for your wall before it ships. Or use your own installer — no proprietary parts.
Payment is in full at checkout, by card or PayPal. We do not take a deposit and we do not hold your money against a build slot — you are covered instead by 100 days to change your mind after delivery. Buy-now-pay-later is not available yet; when we switch it on, this answer changes.
Free delivery Australia-wide, duty paid. 6–8 weeks from order, because every unit is cut to your measurements. You get tracking the day it leaves the line.
5-year warranty on frame and motor, 2 years on fabric. 100-day trial: if it does not suit your wall, we take it back.
Leave your number and a good time — we ring you back, no sales script.
17,000 homes shaded. 1,139 five-star reviews. Built quieter, stronger and smarter than anything else in its price class.
A flat cassette that disappears against the wall, and a frame built to the tolerances of an aircraft wing. Nothing on it is there to be noticed — which is exactly the point.
IP65 motor under 45 dB with a remote in the box, plus a manual override crank so it still works in a blackout. Add Wi-Fi control whenever you want it.
Frame and motor covered for five years, fabric for two. Real people on AEST hours, spare parts stocked here — motors, remotes, arms and fabric all order individually.

Most awnings use a single-wall aluminium tube that flexes in wind and sags over time. Mansahaus is engineered with a multi-chamber aluminium profile. Internal ribs and chambers add torsional rigidity — the same principle aerospace engineers use to keep aircraft wings stiff in flight. Up to 2.2x stronger than competing awning frames. Without the weight.
The arm is the part that fails first on most awnings. Single chains stretch. Steel cables snap. Cheap pivots wear out by year three. Mansahaus is engineered with a double-link industrial chain, the same kind used in motorcycles and heavy machinery. Rated for over 100,000 open-close cycles. Smooth. Silent. Built never to stretch.
It is a motorised fabric awning that extends from your wall to create instant shade, then rolls away just as easily when you want open sky. There are no posts and no foundation. It mounts to the house and disappears into a slim cassette housing when retracted.
Big-box awnings are built to a price: single-wall tube, single chain arms, printed polyester that fades in two summers. Ours uses a multi-chamber aluminium frame up to 2.2x thicker, double-link industrial chain arms rated for 100,000 cycles, and Sauleda Spanish marine-grade acrylic. It is cut to your wall to the centimetre instead of coming in three fixed sizes.
It adds usable outdoor living space without a build, and without posts, footings or council drama in most cases. A shaded west-facing room also runs measurably cooler, which shows up on the power bill through an Australian summer.

Sauleda Spanish marine-grade acrylic — the same fabric used on luxury yachts and Mediterranean villas. Solution-dyed at the fibre level, guaranteed not to fade for 10 years, blocks up to 97% of UV and drops the temperature underneath by as much as 8°C.
Wind class 2, rated to hold steady fully extended at 40 km/h. Reinforced brackets, double-link chain arms and a frame up to 2.2x thicker than the category. The optional wind sensor retracts it automatically.
Motorised as standard: IP65 motor, under 45 dB, remote included. A manual override crank ships with every unit so it still works in a blackout. Wi-Fi control is available as an add-on.
Dimmable LED strips run along the arms, wired into the cassette. No visible cabling, no separate switch — they run off the same remote as the awning.
Two people, about an hour. The cassette lifts onto brackets you fix to the wall, then the arms unfold. We send the fixing plan for your specific wall before the unit ships, along with a step-by-step video.
Wall, ceiling, soffit, fascia or a rooftop frame. Every unit ships with the hardware for your mount surface. Send us a photo and we will do a free pre-install assessment.
For a standard wall-mounted retractable awning on a house, no permit is needed in most Australian councils — there are no posts and no foundation. Strata and heritage properties are the usual exceptions, so check with your body corporate or council first.
Yes. No proprietary parts and no locked fixings, so any handyman or awning installer can put it up. We supply the same fixing plan to them.
5 years on the frame and motor, 2 years on the fabric, covering manufacturing defects and mechanical failure in normal use. Storm damage and installation errors are not covered.
100-day trial. If it does not work on your house, we take it back and refund you. Tell us before you drill and we arrange collection.
Free delivery Australia-wide, duty paid. 6–8 weeks from order, because every unit is cut to your measurements. Tracking goes out the day it leaves the line.
Motors, remotes, arms, brackets and fabric are all stocked and orderable individually. Nothing on the unit is a sealed assembly.
Left it out in a solid few days of rain to see what would happen. Water runs straight off the front, no pooling, no sagging, no mildew afterwards. I do roll it in overnight now out of habit.
West-facing concrete out the back, so from about two it was a furnace and nobody sat out there. Put this up and we're eating outside most nights now. Took the two of us about three hours with the brackets into the brick.
Ours had to go up above the door on the top level and I wasn't sure about the fixings into hardwood. They sent a bracket plan for it before I ordered. Sits dead level and it hasn't moved.
Bought it for summer, but right now it's keeping the rain off the back door and the wood pile. No stiffness in the arms in the cold, which I half expected at this price.
Nasty gust front came through about three weeks after install and I'd left it half out. Not a mark on it. Only reason it's four stars is I think the wind sensor should come standard at this price — it's going on my next order.
Backyard gets full sun from about ten and the table was unusable. The sand colour keeps it feeling bright underneath rather than gloomy, which I was worried about with a darker fabric.
Our deck is 5.8 m and I was worried a single unit wouldn't span it without sagging. It does, and there's no post in the way, which was the whole point. We have our morning tea out there now regardless of the sun.
Our bedroom window is right next to it and I was worried about the motor waking someone. You genuinely can't hear it from inside. Worth the money on that alone.
Went with the white cassette to match the trim and I'm glad I did, it disappears against the wall. We string lights off it in the evening and sit out there most nights.
Federation house, so I was fussy about how it would look against the brick and the verandah timbers. The green sits back nicely and the cassette is slim enough that you barely notice it when it's shut. Brackets went into the mortar, not the bricks, as advised.
The lounge window copes the morning sun and the room was hitting 34. I use it mostly as a shade for the glass. Aircon runs about half as much now.
Six weeks as promised but it felt longer waiting out here. Product itself is excellent — the cassette finish is much nicer than the one my neighbour paid more for.
House was only handed over in January so the render was fresh and I was nervous about drilling. Templates were spot on. Kids can be out on the grass in the middle of the day now.
Half the reason I got it was the veggie beds against the wall cooking every summer. Now I roll it out over them in the worst of the heat and back in when I want the sun.
The BBQ area faces north-west and you'd be standing there squinting into the sun the whole time. Not any more. Colour is a deeper red than it looks on screen, which I actually prefer.
Two streets back from the water, and everything out here corrodes eventually. Six months in and the arms and cassette still look new. The dog has claimed the shade permanently.
Only 2.6 m of wall to play with and most places wouldn't quote it. They made it to size and it clears the railing properly. Sunset out here is the best part of the day now.
Concrete around the pool used to be too hot to stand on barefoot by lunchtime. Under the awning it's fine now. The kids are in and out all day.
Small yard, no room for a pergola, and I didn't want posts near the pool edge. This bolts to the wall and cantilevers right over the paving. The lights on the arms reflect off the water at night and it looks a treat.
Duplex, so the courtyard is about four metres wide. No posts was the deciding factor — anything with legs would have made it unusable. Looks like it was designed for the space.
Trampoline and swing set were unusable from about eleven onwards. Now the whole corner is covered until mid-afternoon. Fabric colour has not faded a shade so far.
Bought it for shade, ended up using it more at night. Warm light, dimmable, and no cables hanging anywhere because it's built into the arms. We had fifteen people out here for my wife's birthday and nobody wanted to go inside.
Assembly is genuinely a two-person hour, not the one-person job I pictured. A couple of steps in the video move fast and I had to rewind. Once it was up, faultless.
Strip down the side of the house between the wall and the garage, 4.6 m with a downpipe in the middle. They cut it to fit and sent a bracket plan that worked around it. Nobody else would quote it.
Join the list and we include the wind sensor with your build run, plus the size guide and a fixed delivered price for your wall. No sales calls, ever.
